Healthwatch Lambeth is launching a new project to connect with Black women in Lambeth who are affected by fibroids, endometriosis or both.
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in and around the womb (uterus). Endometriosis is where cells similar to those in the lining of the womb (uterus) grow in other parts of the body.
This project aims to better understand residents’ awareness of these conditions, as well as their experiences of diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
Healthwatch are especially keen to hear patients’ views on how the care pathway can be improved and what information would help them manage their symptoms and support their wellbeing.
They warmly invite all Lambeth Black women to take part. All comments are anonymous and will play a vital role in shaping better care for all women.
