Developing a co-production vision - Adult Social Care - Bromley
Bromley's Council's transformation of Adult Social Services is built on a shared ambition: Together we Thrive. This guiding principle reflects our deep commitment to co-production, collaboration, and creating services that support residents' independence and control over their lives. Our strategic direction is clear - we are reshaping how Adult Social Care operates to better meet people's needs while ensuring long-term sustainability.
Working Together Group
As part of our commitment, we’re seeking your support to promote and help us recruit people who live in Bromley for a new Working Together Group. This group will bring together people with lived experience of adult services, carers and family members to help shape how those services are designed, delivered, and evaluated. We know that the voices of adults with lived experience is key to shaping services that genuinely reflect what matters to them and helps them to maintain their independence.
The Working Together Group will meet regularly at times and locations co-produced by its members. Opportunities involve:
- Sharing their experiences
- Connecting with others
- Contributing ideas and identifying what’s missing
- Testing new services
If you know anyone who is interested in being part of the Working Together Group, please encourage them to register here:

Developing a co-production vision
From May to July 2025 the Adult Social Care team in Bromley called out to all partners who want to shape what co-production looks like in Bromley. This process involved working alongside people with lived experience, carers, partner organisations and Adult Social Care staff to create a vision, charter, toolkit, and evaluation framework. This work and subsequent co-production training aims to embed co-production at individual, service, and strategic levels. This is to ensure that they are hearing from diverse voices and confirm the services designed to help people live independent and fulfilled lives are meeting their needs and wants.
The team worked closely with the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) who supported them with running workshops. These workshops facilitated conversations and the development of co-produced definitions and resources around co-production.
The first workshop took place on 19 May (online) and aimed to develop a shared local vision of co-production within Bromley. The online session was followed up by an ‘in person’ (at Bromley Civic Centre) version of the workshop on Wednesday 4th of June aimed at voluntary organisations/partners only.
How people with lived experience and carers got involved?
We invited residents with lived experience of using Adult Social Care services in Bromley or carers, to share their story and be involved with our workshops in June and July:
1. Developing a Co-production Framework and Toolkit (Joint with voluntary organisations/partners, Staff and People with Lived Experience)
2. Developing an evaluation framework (Joint with voluntary organisations/partners, Staff and People with Lived Experience)
If you want to register your interest for keeping up to date on all things co-production, please fill in the short form.
