Why is this happening?

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) cancelled the GP partners’ registration to run Eltham Palace Surgery on 19 March 2026. Since then, GP services have continued under a temporary arrangement while a longer-term solution is worked out.

Can I still use my GP surgery?

Yes. GP services are currently being provided by Eltham Medical Practice on a temporary basis. You should continue to access care in the usual way.

    What are you deciding?

We are looking at two possible options:

    • finding a new organisation to run the practice
    • asking patients to register with another local GP practice

No decision has been made yet.

    Will my GP surgery close?

No final decision has been made. If any changes are proposed, we will write to you again with clear information and next steps.

If I have to move, will I get a choice?

Yes. If patients are asked to re-register with another GP practice, you will be able to choose from local practices that are accepting new patients.

What happens if I don't choose a GP practice?

If needed, you would be allocated a local practice so you can continue to receive care. You would still be able to change practices later if you prefer.

Will this affect my care or access to appointments?

Our priority is to make sure you continue to have access to safe and reliable GP services, with no gap in care.

Why can't the current arrangement continue?

The current setup is only temporary. A longer-term, stable solution is needed to ensure continuity of care for patients.

How long will a decision take?

A decision is expected in July 2026, after patient feedback has been considered.

How can I share my views?

    You can:

    • attend one of the meetings (in person or online)
    • complete the survey (online or paper copy at the practice)

    Details are in your letter.

Will you tell me what happens next?

Yes. We will write to you after a decision is made to explain what will happen and what you need to do (if anything).

Who can I contact if I have any questions?

You can email: communications@selondonics.nhs.uk or attend one of the planned meetings.
