Background
The Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) plays a vital role in supporting people to live safely and independently at home. It provides essential equipment—such as hospital beds, hoists, mobility aids, and other daily living items—to people of all ages who require support due to illness, disability, or frailty. The service also helps people stay out of hospital and helps them leave hospital in a timely way by supporting people to recover in their own homes.
We are reviewing and redesigning ICES across Greenwich to ensure it meets the growing and changing needs of local people, their carers as well as people who work in health and care services. Your feedback will help us create a service that is responsive, reliable, and centred around what matters most to those who use it.
Your views matter
Whether you have used the service yourself or supported someone who relies on equipment, your views and experience are invaluable.
We want to understand:
What works well in the current service
Where there are gaps, delays or improvements needed
What really matters to people when receiving equipment and support
What people need from a high-quality, person-centred equipment service
Your feedback will directly inform how we design and commission the future service.
We want to hear from:
People who have used the service
Carers, family members and friends
Anyone with an interest in community equipment services
What we want to learn from you
We are particularly interested in your experience of:
Accessing the service – how easy it was to get support
Equipment provision – whether the right equipment was provided at the right time
Delivery and setup – your experience of receiving equipment
Communication – how well you were kept informed and supported about your equipment delivery, any repairs or maintenance or collection
Repairs and maintenance – how quickly and effectively issues were resolved
Returns and collections – how easy it was to arrange equipment collection when no longer needed
Overall experience – what worked well and what could be improved
If you work in health or social care, and want to give your views as a worker and not as a carer or user of the service, please contact Abbey Sonubi.
We are planning to hold two focus groups in early September. If you are interested in taking part please take two minutes to fill in this short form and we will get back to you with details.
