- the value of continuing communication and providing updates on programme progress for people involved
- the importance of information and education for patients and carers
- the role of Structure Medication Review awareness, understanding and how to access it
- the need for cultural sensitivity and the opportunity for individual feedback when discussing health issues and medication in group settings
- the importance of empowering carers to discuss medications, especially in cases involving mental health and dementia

- the recognition that some patients prefer alternative treatments in addition to medication
- interest in continued engagement – many participants attending these sessions expressed their interest to continue to be involved with some people signing up to attend the Polypharmacy Community of Practice workshops

Key insights and themes from the feedback sessions (May - July 2024)
The South East London Overprescribing Programme team re-visited groups and communities between May to July 2024 that we engaged with during 2023 to feedback and share progress and how people’s recommendations contributed to sustainable changes and improvements to overcome overprescribing.
These visits highlighted the importance of effective communication, thorough medical assessments, cultural sensitivity, and continued education and support for both patients and carers in managing medications.
