What a fantastic day at the South East London sickle cell community picnic! ☀️

On Saturday 20 June we were delighted to welcome over 140 people living with sickle cell, families, carers, volunteers and colleagues for a celebration of connection, support and community spirit. It was a wonderful opportunity for people from across South East London to meet, catch up with familiar faces and build new relationships in a relaxed and uplifting setting.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to all of the volunteers, staff and community organisations who helped make the day such a success. Your support, enthusiasm and commitment created a welcoming and positive atmosphere for everyone involved.

Events like this are a reminder of the importance of community. Bringing people together outside of healthcare settings helps strengthen relationships, reduce isolation and create lasting support networks.
