Let's talk about our Joint Forward Plan and how we can make a difference to local people's health over the next five years.

The Joint Forward Plan describes how we will provide and deliver health services to improve outcomes for people and communities in south east London.

The Joint Forward Plan is a five year plan setting out our objectives for meeting the health needs of south east Londoners. It builds on the ICS strategic priorities, borough based Health and Care Plans and insight from local people gained through previous engagement work and details our plans in key service areas.

Our Joint Forward Plan sets out our key objectives and actions of programmes across south east London focussing on:

  • Urgent and emergency care
  • Mental health
  • Children and young people
  • Learning disability and autism
  • Planned care
  • Maternity
  • Cancer care
  • Long term conditions
  • Primary care
  • Palliative and end of life care

Successful delivery of these key objectives is reliant on some key enablers: workforce, digital and data, estates and finance.

How people contributed?

We were keen to understand people’s views on what we need to do so we can make a real difference in key areas of care for local people, what they think is important and what would need to be different in five years times.

We listened and captured insights from local people via online webinars in May 2023 and at a range of events and meetings across south east London and comments via this platform.

During the two two webinars about Joint Forward Plan participants had the opportunity to take part in two group discussions on either planned care, urgent and emergency care, cancer care or ageing well and end of life care.

You can read a shorter overview of these four areas here.

You can read a summary of the themes from the discussion groups here.

You can read the engagement and insight chapter of the plan here.

Thank you very much to everyone who contributed. Your feedback has informed our plan.

Please email the engagement team at engagement@selondonics.nhs.uk if you would like to find out more about the Joint Forward Plan.
