What are we doing?
Greenwich are planning on developing a single point of access (SPA) for children and young people to make it easier to access mental health support. This will mean there will be one place where children and young people, and their families, can go to find mental health support. We hope the SPA will make it simpler to get the right help at the right time.
This work is being delivered collaboratively with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and South East London Integrated Care System. We are working in partnership with PPL and Baxendale to support the development of the SPA and engage with the local community.
We want the SPA to be shaped by children and young people, and their families and carers.
Why are we doing it?
The SPA aims to provide a single, joined up, and easy-to-use entry point to mental health and emotional wellbeing support across Greenwich. This won’t replace existing mental health and emotional wellbeing services but rather make it easier to access support available in Greenwich.
Our key aims are to:
Make it easier for children and young people and their families to find and access mental health and wellbeing support.
Work with children, young people, families and carers to design a SPA that meets their needs.
Make sure every child and young person, and their family, can access mental health support fairly, no matter who they are or their needs.
Focus on early support so that we help stop mental health from getting worse.
